Digital image of The South Tower with the Golden Gate was begun by Peter Parler, but continued by his sons after his death. The mosaic is the work of Peter Parler copied from Byzantine style. It depicts the Final Judgement of World. The nobility and clergy are represented in the mosaic as culpable before God for their authority adn abuses. The clock was added onto the tower in 1591 under Rudolf II. The cathedral of St Vitus was begun under Matthias of Arras in the 14th century and completed in the 20th century. The plans of completion were made by Kranner who was succeeded by Josef Mocker, a purist. Mocker studied the original plans of Matthias and Parler to complete the cathedral. The cathedral was completed under Kamil Hilbert and dedicated in 1929.
