Digital image of Saint Nobert stands on the roof of the Church of Assumption of Our lady at Strahov monastery in Prague, Czech Republic. Strahov is one of the oldest religious houses in Prague and houses a very valuable collection of incunnabulae or illustrated manuscripts that are used for critical Biblical studies and translation. The house was established by Praemonstratensians under Bishop Zdik and King Vladislav I as a Romanesque basilica. The monastery has been rebuilt through ages and the presenmt Baroque construction comes after the Counter-Reformation and Thirty Years War of 1627 under Rudolf II patronage. The chief architects are M Filippi, G D Orsi, Siard Nosecky, Jean B Mathey, and Johann Anton Quitainer.
