Description:
Digital image of St Peter and Paul stand above the Vltava or Moldau on the hill of Vysehrad where the National Cemetery was created. The church dates back to an early Gothic basilica. Vysehrad was established under Charles IV as his second castle. It fell to the Hussites in the Hussite Wars and Prussians in the Austro-Prussian Wars. The church survived through the ages and was renovated in Baroque style. In the 19th century, Josef Mocker was commissioned to restore historic buildings as well as the completion of St Vitus Cathedral. St Peter and Paul, St Ludmilla on Namesti Miru as well as the renovation of Karlstejn. Smichov Railway Bridge is in the foreground.
